We are checking in with Sofia Hagan, Climate manager from Tapaus and the project manager for LIWLIGs new Co2e calculator that will be launched in the beginning of 2024.
Hi Sofia, how exciting to hear that this new calculator will be out soon! And, since Liwlig already have a Co2 calculator I guess it’s relevant to ask; why a new one?
- Well, our mission with the first calculator was to bring up climate action into our projects. With it we could start a dialogue with clients and suppliers around emissions, and it visualizes the impact from every part of the event and how better options can lower them. Today, after having it as standard for a couple of years, we have a wide range of climate smart solutions like rescued food, climate over cleaning and re-use of products. Solutions that don’t show in our current version. This triggered us to develop a new calculator where we will have incitement for climate smart solutions and provide users and ourselves with even more detailed insights. We want to put the power in the hands of individuals and event planners to create greener, more sustainable events!

- The LIWLIG CO2 calculator remains free to use and will now be more detailed than ever. I see it as a tool to empower everyone—whether you're planning a small gathering or a large-scale event—calculate your carbon footprint and accept the challenge to lower it! Our footprint data today is key to make the right choices for a sustainable tomorrow.
